Respawn Unsure If There Will Be a Titanfall 3

Respawn Unsure If There Will Be a Titanfall 3

Respawn co-founder Vince Zampella says the studio is currently unsure as to whether or not there will be a Titanfall 3. “We don’t know yet,” Zampella told Glixel when asked if there will be another installment. He said that Titanfall 2 has been a “huge success” critically and they’re “really happy with all the reviews and the positive sentiment,” but “it’s too early to tell” from a sales standpoint. “We’d definitely like to tell more of the story and the universe,” Zampella continued. “I think it’s pretty safe to assume that we’ll explore more of it. EA might have announced more.” Continue reading…

Watch the New Kong: Skull Island Trailer

Watch the New Kong: Skull Island Trailer

The second trailer for Kong: Skull Island debuted on Jimmy Kimmel Live tonight, featuring more of cinema’s biggest ape (who’s bigger in this film than he’s ever been depicted before). The film, directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts, stars Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, John Goodman, and Samuel L. Jackson. The new trailer for the Vietnam era-set tale opens with CCR’s “Bad Moon Rising” blaring as our characters undertake their mission only to run afoul of King Kong. The trailer also features a bit more humor than the first trailer did, this time courtesy of John C. Reilly’s character, as well as the other monsters who inhabit Skull Island. Check it out: For more insights into Kong: Skull Island, check out our breakdown below of all the Easter eggs we caught in the movie’s first trailer: Continue reading…

South Park: "Members Only" Review

South Park: "Members Only" Review

Warning: Full spoilers for the episode below. These past couple episodes of South Park have served as a major showcase for just how adaptable Trey Parker and Matt Stone can be. Last week, “Oh, Jeez” had to be reworked at the very last minute to reflect Donald Trump’s unexpected election victory. And as continuity-driven as this season has been from the start, that shake-up is still having ramifications. It’s clear that whatever plans Parker and Stone may have had back in October have changed significantly since then. But the fact that the Season 20 conflict is still so entertaining speaks highly of their ability to improvise. In some ways, the fact that Mr. Garrison won the election rather than Hillary Clinton actually seems to jive better with the show’s general direction this year. It certainly fits with the whole Member Berries concept and the idea that political developments like the Brexit vote and Trump’s election show humanity clinging to the past rather than trying to move forward. As this episode explores a world rapidly being consumed by fear and paranoia, the season begins to feel more timely and relevant than ever. Continue reading…

American Horror Story: Season 6 Finale Review

American Horror Story: Season 6 Finale Review

Warning: Full spoilers for the episode below.   For its finale, did American Horror Story: Roanoke take us back to the house for one more slaughterfest featuring idiots with body cams getting gutted by the Chens, the Nurses, Pigman, and the Colonists? You bet it did! Because there’s no way we’re tired of that, right? Look, revisiting the same old sloppy shtick that started back in the premiere (when we were only watching reenactments) wasn’t the best. At this point, in the season finale, there’s just now way to care about NEW characters — rightfully stupid ones at that — falling into the same trappings of torment as everyone else on the show. But thankfully that part only took up a small(ish) portion of this episode – which I’d still like to applaud for only being an hour. This season, for all its medium-sized failings, still managed to keep things tight, even in the season finale (which traditionally run long). Continue reading…

Arrow: "Vigilante" Review

Arrow: "Vigilante" Review

Warning: Full spoilers for the episode below. It’s been a busy week for the Arrow-verse, with Supergirl introducing both Guardian and Parasite, The Flash offering the first taste of this season’s big baddie and now Arrow debuting the latest costumed avenger roaming the streets of Star City. Of these various new characters, Vigilante enjoyed what was easily the strongest debut. He’s quickly shaping up to be a worthy antagonist to Team Arrow, begging the question of whether the show even needs Prometheus at this point. On some level, it always seemed weird that the writers would choose to introduce Vigilante this season after already building up such a robust new cast of heroes. Did the show really need Vigilante on top of Artemis, Wild Dog, Ragman and Mister Terrific? But if this episode made anything clear, it’s that Vigilante is a different breed of, well, vigilante. He’s not what most would describe as a hero. His methods are extreme, even by the standards of Oliver “Killing is back on the table” Queen. He doesn’t seem to mind terribly if innocent civilians are caught in the crossfire. And he clearly doesn’t need any training from the Green Arrow. Continue reading…
