Get Prepped for Wayward Pines: Season 2

Get Prepped for Wayward Pines: Season 2

Welcome to Wayward Pines, where paradise is home, the ice cream is fresh and the only humans left in existence are living out a Stepford experience in order to survive. Even if you caught the first season of the M. Night Shyamalan produced series (as based on the novels by Blake Crouch), it’s been almost a year since Matt Dillon and co. signed off, so we figured some prep couldn’t hurt. Here’s what you need to know heading into the sophomore season when the show returns this Wednesday. Secret Service agent Ethan Burke (Matt Dillon) spent an entire season trying to figure out the secret to Wayward Pines. Eventually, he learned that the only thing outside the town’s electric fences were “abbies,” flesh-eating beings, and that one David Pilcher (Captain America’s Toby Jones) was responsible for choosing and resurrecting people for his makeshift town. By the finale, Pilcher had lost all faith in humanity and shut down the fences in order to make a clean sweep, effectively killing most of the resistance fighters and resetting the town back to its perfect existence, while Ethan sacrificed himself to save the town. Overwatch Review In Progress

Overwatch Review In Progress

Overwatch exists at an intersection between design and artistry, a crossroad at which pure tactile joy meets refined, intelligent design to create a rare spark of magic. It’s blessed with a multitude of tactical layers, but none of them ever come between me and my enjoyment of the frenetic, minute-to-minute action. As a 6v6 multiplayer, objective-based shooter, it finds accessibility not by lowering the skill ceiling, but by broadening the definition of skills. The person with deadshot aim is no more valuable than the person with the decision-making ability to know when a well-timed ability will turn an engagement, or the person with the map-sense to find the optimal locations to place sentry turrets. It bobs and weaves almost perfectly between being the quick-fix adrenaline hit you might want after a long day of work, and the thoughtful, strategic multiplayer experience that becomes the center of evening-long binges with friends. What You Need to Know About Powers Season 2

What You Need to Know About Powers Season 2

Based on Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming’s mature superhero saga comic book of the same name, Powers became PlayStation’s first ever live-action scripted series last year. Sharlto Copley stars as grounded superhero-turned-cop Christian Walker while Susan Heyward stepped into the role of Deena Pilgrim, Walker’s hotheaded new partner. Season 2 comes to the PlayStation Store on May 31st so we thought it’d be a great time to briefly look back at Season 1 while also teasing what lies ahead in this year’s batch of episodes. Powers takes place in the world of superhuman abilities, with the LAPD’s Powers Division being charged with handling serious crimes committed by those with these abilities. And Walker’s former life as an insanely strong crusader gives him an extra bit of insight into the world of those who soar above normal citizens. And those who think they’re above the law.
