Supernatural: Season 12 Premiere Review

Supernatural: Season 12 Premiere Review

Warning: Full spoilers for the episode below. While “Keep Calm and Carry On” didn’t quite accomplish everything a good, driving season premiere should, I appreciated the fact that it brought the boys’ story back to a grounded, rather un-cosmic level. After the astronomical heights, and stakes, involved in Season 11’s story, we’re now back on the tarmac and ready for a simpler saga rooted in family. Sure, by the end, Sam was still Toni’s (Elizabeth Blackmore) prisoner and Crowley was still on the hunt for a weak, vessel-hopping Lucifer, so not much was resolved here. Because of this, we still don’t have a clear picture as to what Season 12 might hold for us, but the heart of this one centered the celestial return of Mary Winchester and the ways she and Dean both tried to process her abrupt appearance in 2016 – 33 years after she died. Legends of Tomorrow: Season 2 Premiere Review

Legends of Tomorrow: Season 2 Premiere Review

Warning: Full spoilers for the episode below. It’s a shame that DC’s Legends of Tomorrow had a slightly truncated first season, because it seemed as though the show really found itself towards the end. But at least it landed a second season (despite lukewarm ratings), allowing showrunner Phil Klemmer and his crew to dig deeper into this band of time-travelling misfit heroes. Between the lighter tone and the fact that much of the show’s dead weight has been jettisoned, Season 2 is already shaping up to be an improvement. Right off the bat, the biggest thing working in the show’s favor this season is the fact that the Vandal Savage storyline is finished. Savage himself is gone, and both Hawkgirl (Ciara Renee) and Hawkman (Falk Hentschel) are on extended sabbatical. That leaves room for a leaner, meaner team of Legends to join Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) in his ongoing quest to defend the timeline now that the Time Masters have been eliminated. Continue reading…

You Can Use PlayStation VR With Your Xbox One and PC

PlayStation VR has been discovered to be compatible with the Xbox One and with PCs, but users shouldn’t expect the full PSVR functionality out of the experience. As spotted by Reddit, an Xbox or PC can be connected to the PSVR processor unit via HDMI. IGN has independently confirmed the Xbox One will work with the PSVR, however, the headset will only display these other pieces of hardware in the PSVR’s Cinematic Mode. Essentially, what that means is you’ll see a massive floating screen in front of you, but instead of the PS4 home screen being projected, the Xbox One dashboard will appear when that console is plugged into the processor.
