24: Legacy: "4:00 P.M. – 5:00 P.M." Review

Warning: Full spoilers for the episode below. The show should really be moving faster than this. It is hard to look at this episode as anything more than treading water. The quality of the episodes this season may be a bit erratic, but at least each episode’s plot works towards something. A single shocking moment and decent end to the episode saved what otherwise would have been the weakest of the season. I admit it; I was wrong about Gabriel being Tony. It just seemed so perfect. Carter and Ben took center stage this week. While their interactions were generally interesting, it’s hard to see much growth when Ben is annoyingly optimistic and Carter communicates mostly in scowls and side-eye. Ben has never been a very sympathetic person — their conversations in the car seem like a last ditch effort to make us care about him, but it just didn’t work for me. Continue reading…
