Spider-Man 3: Dane DeHaan Says His Green Goblin Isn't Making a Return
Dane DeHaan has denied rumors that he will be reprising the role of the Green Goblin in Marvel’s Spider-Man 3, the forthcoming sequel to Spider-Man: Far From Home. Speaking to Radio Times at a recent press conference, DeHaan, who portrayed Harry Osborn, otherwise known as the Green Goblin, in 2014’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2, confirmed that he will not be making an appearance in the third Spider-Man movie alongside Tom Holland. In fact, he firmly told the outlet that “there’s no truth” to the speculation that he will be suiting up as the supervillain again. “There’s no truth to those rumors. I don’t even know how that would be pulled off,” he stated. “I would certainly love to make some kind of movie like that again. I like making superhero movies or in that kind of world and I’m sure I’ll find myself in that world again. And I have no idea what they’re doing with the Spider-Man movies now, but I don’t really understand a world in which that would be possible.” [ignvideo url=”https://www.ign.com/videos/2014/04/17/who-are-the-sinister-six-comics-history-101″] Reports and rumors have been rife about past Spider-flick stars Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, and Andrew Garfield appearing in Spider-Man 3, along with villainous counterparts Doc Ock and Electro, reprised by Alfred Molina and Jamie Foxx. Doctor Strange is also making an appearance in the movie, which is expected to lead the MCU straight into 2022’s Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness. Spider-Man 3’s casting line-up, confirmed or otherwise, seems to be hinting at a live-action Spiderverse/multiverse crossover of epic proportions, which could possibly be intertwined with later events in the MCU, particularly the Multiverse of Madness.
